Most of the women I know who practice yoga come to it for the way it makes them feel:
- Less stressed
- More comfortable in their bodies
- Empowered to address things they’d like to improve
Most men I know would love to feel the same things; and the men who practice yoga do!
I developed the Man to Man: Yoga for the Average Guy workshop to help even men who have little or no experience with yoga try it out in a no-pressure environment, and without the challenge of trying to keep up with more experienced women, who tend to have different body issues. While many women have restrictions in their range of motion and strength, some of the women who are drawn to yoga can do remarkable things gymnastically. I know that can be intimidating, but read on…
Yoga is not about what you can pretzel your body into, but about how to practice holistically, combining breath, concentration, and balance in the body that you have. Like athletes in “the zone,” you gain a natural grace that will have people asking you, ‘You look great, what are you doing?’
Check out this video where Brooklyn Nets’ KG mugs about using yoga to help balance himself, even though he can’t do all the poses. Come to my workshop June 14, and try it for yourself!
